Glazed Salmon with Fruit Salsa
I served this Glazed Salmon with Fruit Salsa for Ash Wednesday to rave reviews from the picky hubby. Simple, easy and elegant! Can’t beat that!
Of course, the tropical fruit salsa wasn’t part of the deal for him, but he adored this seafood recipe.
Glazed Salmon with Fruit Salsa
It was through serendipity that I’ve become friends with a lovely food blogger in town. I’ve mentioned Kate from the blog Kate’s Kitchen before. Since meeting online, I’ve been to one of her fabulous parties, gone out to dinner with her and her hilarious hubby, run into her around town, and enjoyed cooking some of her fabulous recipes. She raved about this glazed salmon, and I’d been waiting for a rare rain-free evening this spring to fire up the grill and make her Glazed Salmon with Fruit Salsa.
How to Make Glazed Salmon
This was an easy peasy meal. A simple mixture of soy, Dijon and lemon juice was mixed for the marinade. Once the salmon had rested in the concoction for about a half hour, I removed it and glazed each slice with a scant tablespoon of orange marmalade. I love grilling my seafood, but if the weather isn’t cooperating, it’s a snap to prepare in the oven, too. The most complicated part of the salsa is the time it takes to chop all the components. Adjust the heat by scaling back the red pepper flakes if desired.

Ingredients
For salmon::
- 3-4 8 ounce salmon fillets
- 1/2 cup soy
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup orange marmalade
For salsa::
- 1 cup diced pineapple
- 1 kiwi, chopped
- 1 cup chopped mango
- 1 cup diced strawberries
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 3/4 cup diced red bell pepper
- 2 1/2 tablespoons champagne vinegar
- 4 teaspoons sugar
Instructions
- Mix soy, mustard and lemon in a zip lock bag. Add salmon and allow to marinate in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- While salmon is marinating, prepare grill.
- Remove salmon from marinade and top with marmalade. Grill over indirect heat to desired doneness. Serve with Fruit Salsa.
- If you'd like to cook in the oven, preheat to 450º and place salmon on a grill pan or in a cast-iron skillet. Cook for about 12 minutes (I use the10 minutes per inch rule of thumb).
For salsa:
- Combine ingredients, refrigerate to allow flavors to meld. Serve at room temperature.

Wow, this salmon looks so flavorful!! I think we both had fish for dinner and they were both healthy!! YUM! : )
I actually have all these ingredients and will make this tonight. To reduce calories, the 4teaspoons of sugar will be ommited from the fruit and I am going to forgo the orange marmalade glaze.
This looks so delicious and appealing to the eyes. A true feast for the eyes and the palette. Am a new following from MBC. and I am lovin your blog!
The salmon looks incredible. I love the idea of a fruit salsa. It looks soooo good!
The salsa is a perfect pair for this dish. So refreshing.
Fantastic summer dinner! I eat salmon all the time, and I will definitely be trying this out! Love the salsa, and that adorable pic of your pup!
We came late to the appreciation of salmon, but having finally gotten there, this recipe is a must have on the seafood menu. Love the freshness of the salsa, and the orange marmalade is just perfect, too. Very yummy, thanks!
I love the photo of your pup!! Awwww soooo cute! The salmon sounds wonderful… pairing it with some mango salsa is genius!!
This sounds phenomenal Lizzy! I love fruit salsa and salmon so I know the dish would be a hit. All of the colors just make me smile 🙂
Terrific recipe/s Lizzy!!! I am surely going to try that salmon… the salsa looks amazing too. I love mangoes and any kind of “sweet and sourish” dishes! 🙂
Just love salmon I just made something similar over the weekend but this with the mango rules!
What a great match. I like how you added pineapple because when I add mango, I wouldn’t think of pineapple! Great idea. I love champagne vinegar and I’m going to try this fruit salsa soon!
What a beautiful dish. I love salmon and am always looking for new ways to try it. Im jealous that you have a foodie friend so close too! I’d love to have someone nearby to chat with. 😀
I never thought I could have salmon with fruits. Interesting combination!
I can’t wait to try this glazed salmon as it looks so good. Unfortunately I would have to do a sub on the salsa because I can’t eat mango, so maybe pineapple would work?
I love when a few ingredients come together in a marinade. Great idea to apply the marmalade after it comes off the grill. I need to add champagne vinegar to my shopping list so we can try your fruit salsa.
The marmalade sounds like a great addition to the glaze. Definitely will try this one as we try to eat salmon often here.
I must admit, i’m a little scared of salmon. But this recipe could tempt me to try it!
I do hope you fixed the dog a plate too!
This sounds great Lizzy. How every did you get your dog to not rip that salmon off the plate, mine wouldn’t have had such self control. I’m picking up more mangos this week there is a great sale going on right now. Hope you had a great holiday weekend.
