Cream Cheese Strawberry Pie

I had my first nibble of this Cream Cheese Strawberry Pie at my wedding shower. Rich and elegant, the berries over a mixture of sweetened cream cheese and whipped cream was heavenly.Cream Cheese Strawberry Pie

Cream Cheese Strawberry Pie
Isn’t this the perfect pie plate for strawberry pie???

Cream Cheese Strawberry Pie

This is a variation of my Strawberry Pie Dessert which has been a family favorite for years.  We were having company for dinner during the peak of Indiana strawberry season…and I knew our dessert would have to involve strawberries.  I wasn’t thrilled with the crust I chose…as it slid down the sides of my pie plate….maybe because I greased it, hoping for easy plating, but any favorite pie crust recipe will do.  The flavors of the sweet, creamy filling, luscious ripe berries, and slightly tart jelly all work together…it’s a party in your mouth with every bite!

A scrumptious berry pie with a sweetened cream cheese filling. Recipe adapted from a family friend, Dee Mc Connell

  • 3 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup whipping cream, whipped
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Red currant jelly, about half a 10-ounce jar
  • One 9 inch pie crust, prebaked (I used a sweet dough, but regular pie crust or a graham cracker crust would work well, too)

  1. With a hand mixer, combine cream cheese, sugar and lemon juice. Fold in whipped cream. Spread mixture in prepared pie shell.
  2. Top with sliced or whole berries. Cover berries with melted, and slightly cooled, currant jelly. Chill at least 2 hours before serving before serving

Recipe Notes

There will be added baking and prep time depending on what kind of crust you use. Note there is a 2-hour chilling period as well.

  13. Thanks, everyone!!!

Badger Girl (just love your name :)), yes, the jelly is melted, then cooled slightly. I’ve glazed it when the jelly was too warm and it darkened the berries…but it was still tasty. I found that pie plate at a gift shop quite a few years ago…no maker mark on the bottom except for an EL.

  14. I’m a new follower here. That looks divine. Thanks for sharing. WOuld love for you to stop by if you can!
