Sorry, folks, my blog post and photos have dissappeared, so this is a half hearted attempt to backtrack! The details of this recipe from 2 months ago is sketchy at best…all I remember for certain is that this was as delectable as beautiful.
Anyhoo, this lovely Dorie Greespan recipe began with a simple sponge cake baked in a jellyroll pan…I tweaked it by adding a wee bit of vanilla…just out of habit. After rolling and cooling the cake, a creamy concoction of mascarpone cream was spread over the cake…and instead of mixing in the berries, I sprinkled half the cake with blueberries and half with raspberries and rolled it back up. A dusting of powdered sugar was the finishing touch.
As per the publisher’s instructions, the French Fridays with Dorie members do not publish the recipe, but it can be found in the cookbook, Around My French Table.
