My mom found this recipe on the bag of Rhodes frozen sweet dough many moons ago. I haven’t found that sweet dough in ages, and our local Marsh grocery store has stopped carrying frozen loaves of white dough. I found some generic Kroger dough and that seemed to work fine. This is my FIL’s favorite breakfast treat, so when my BIL and SIL came were passing through town this week, I thought I’d make this for breakfast. They gobbled it up!
Cream Cheese Tea Roll

Cream Cheese Tea Ring
1 loaf Rhodes frozen sweet dough, thawed (I can’t find the sweet dough locally, so use white bread dough)
8 oz cream cheese
1/4 c sugar
1 t lemon juice
Roll dough to 14 x 8 rectangle. Spread filling (above ingredients softened and whipped) on top. Roll up dough as if making cinnamon rolls. Seal ends together to make ring. Make cuts every 1 1/2 inches or so…about 3/4+ of the way through the ring (from outside towards the middle). Twist each ring on its side so that filling shows.
Let rise 1 hour. Bake at 350º for 20-25 minutes.
Glaze when cool…1 c powdered sugar, 1 T soft butter, 1/2 t vanilla, 1 T milk
(I put in a ziplock and cut the corner off…drizzle over tea ring).
